Prior to his death, Wayne Francis was a member of the CMRF, and under the circumstances in which he died, wanted to continue to support medical research.

Guy says many similarities can be drawn between his work with the CMRF and the Wayne Francis Charitable Trust.

“One thing we try and do as Trustees is to ensure our funds are spent in the same way as they are given – with a hand-up, rather than hand-out mind-set, and a long-term focus.”

Guy says the Trust’s breadth of funding is hugely compelling, and is looking forward to working with its newly formed Youth Advisory Group.

“These people are working at the coal face, which means they could potentially bring the greatest benefit of all the funding we’re doing. Having them involved with the Trust is very exciting.”
