Youth Advisory Group
The Wayne Francis Charitable Trust Youth Advisory Group (YAG) is a diverse representation of the Canterbury youth sector. It is made up of six experienced youth workers, each employed in youth-related organisations in Canterbury. The YAG was set up in 2006 to offer recommendations as to how the Trust might best contribute to the development of youth and youth-work in Christchurch. Those recommendations were accepted in December 2006, and are reflected in the Trust’s overarching objectives. |

The YAG is now working along side the Trust to deliver on these objectives;
- Systemic change, actioned through a combination of advocacy, role modeling, and providing a ‘model for change’ that others can follow
- Capacity building initiatives to assist the sector to ‘help itself’
- Direct funding into particular gaps within the Christchurch community
- A single community of focus where the Trust can make a significant difference.
The YAG employs a collectively defined model of best practice, which directs all funding recommendations to the Wayne Francis Charitable Trust.
